Ted Nugent's Take
"Uncle Ted's" Commentary in the Waco Tribune begs the question...Will he turn that same sword upon himself?
"Spirit of the Wild" Star, former Rock Star, and hunting enthusiast Ted Nugent authored an incredibly intense commentary in the Waco Texas Tribune. It is not for the light at heart and raises some serious questions about inciting murder and vigilante acts against registered sex offenders.
Interestingly enough, Mr. Nugent himself has a long history of having sex with minors.
According to his "Behind the Music" Interview, Ted spends the bulk of this program proving what a hypocrite he is. He lambastes drug users and alcohol drinkers, but repeatedly admits (without a trace of humility, however) to being a serial pedophile. Two relationships (one with his wife and one with “muse” Pele Massa, who was 17 when they started dating) were ended due to Ted’s infidelity while on the road, often with underage women. But Ted justifies his behavior with one of his trademark funny expressions: “alternative flesh management.”
Apparently, Ted doesn't realize that under U.S. law sex with anyone under 18 is a sex crime. A Registerable sex crime, which will earn you the child molester label. What he may find even more disturbing is that under the Adam Walsh Act, the statute of limitations for sex crimes has now been abolished. If any one of the many (God only knows how many) underage girls were to come forward from his past, he'd be sitting in a prison cell somewhere for a very long time. Perhaps someone with a sword would be waiting to cut off his head when he was finally released. This is hypocrosy at it's finest.
Ted has also fallen victim to uneducation, ignorance, and parroting the media when saying that ALL sex offenders will reoffend, that they cannot be cured. Experts, child advocacy groups, as well as the USDOJ all prove this is NOT even close to the truth.
About 5% of those on the registry are of the John Couey type and those are the ones we need to focus on. Those are the incurable and pathologically dangerous individuals which simply must be seperated from society. To say all 600,000 registered sex offenders are all child molesters and should all be killed simply shows his ignorance and arrogance on this issue.
The frightening thing is that the man does have a following. My own husband loves him and never misses a show. I also know most of his followers have guns and know very well how to use them. They look up to Ted. He has a public responsibility to therefore choose his words carefully and do his homework before making such generalized comments as well as possibly inciting mass murder.
Hopefully Ted himself will not be the first to have his head severed.
As for John Couey being sentenced to death, I am not a fan of the death penalty, but since the sentence has been imposed, I do agree that it should be carried out as quickly as possible and without delay.

Ted Nugent: Kill this devil(John Couey), and take the sword to all who molest children. If Americans won't rise up to defend our children from these monsters, when in God's name will we rise up?
Ironically, Ted Nugent in his "Behind the Music" Interview refers to himself as a "serial pedophile" detailing numerous sexual encounters with minors.
And...
When Nugent turned 30, in 1978, he began a relationship with a 17-year old Hawaiian girl, Pele Massa, and became her legal guardian to comply with laws pertaining to relationships with minors. This was covered in VH1's 1998 Behind the Music featuring Nugent, and included an interview with Massa.
